The project demonstrates how much a condominium can change within its own boundaries. The scope stayed inside the unit perimeter and trade-permit requirements while making a tangible improvement to both daily function and interior character.

Improving Function Without Touching Shared Systems

The renovation had to stay inside the unit boundary while still solving real functional problems.

• Could not affect shaft walls, building utilities, or plumbing lines
• Could not alter the tensioned concrete slab or the exterior
• Needed to convert an office into a functional bedroom
• Could not increase the unit's overall footprint

Using Planning to Get More From the Existing Unit

Aforma reorganized the existing footprint to improve function while staying within unit and trade-permit boundaries.

• Documented the renovation of the bathrooms and kitchen
• Removed a non-bearing wall for a more open kitchen
• Converted the office by bringing adjacent hallway storage into the closet area
• Kept all finish and fixture changes within unit and trade-permit boundaries

A Refreshed Home With an Added Bedroom Function

The completed renovation refreshed the kitchen and three bathrooms and created a genuine third bedroom without structural or common-area disruption.
